Van Straaten – advertising in a most environment-friendly way
Taste of Amsterdam, the first 100% ‘green’ festival, thanks to Van Straaten
Van Straaten, a full-service producer of printing work and a supplier of innovative advertising media, may rightfully call itself the ultimate specialist in printing media in the Netherlands. Also in the rest of Europe, Van Straaten is regarded as a prominent innovator, a position it owes to being a passionate team, to its 90 years’ experience and to the enormous diversity in materials and expertise it can bring to bear.
From banners to advertising boards and from scaffold advertisements to advertising masts, Van Straaten makes it happen in a professional, flexible, quick and environment-friendly way! For instance, Van Straaten uses water-based rather than chemically-based inks and is very creative at reusing materials. Van Straaten also invests in environment-friendly developments, one of which has resulted in PE (polyethene), an environment-friendly substitute for the widely used bisonyl (also referred to as ‘tarpaulin’). PE is made entirely of recycled material and is non-chlorous. This means that no toxic substances are released when it burns. The quality of PE remains consistently high. Van Straaten contacted Taste of Amsterdam, a large-scale culinary festival held in the Amsterdam Amstelpark from 25 till 28 June, about this environment-friendly PE. It was the first large-scale introduction of PE in its short history. Thus, Taste of Amsterdam was the first large festival turned green by Van Straaten.
