VAN STRAATEN AND TEAM BRUNEL

Van Straaten is pleased to be able to offer Team Brunel its support at the next Volvo Ocean Race. During this prestigious around-the-world sailing competition, the Dutch team will be able to rely on professional visual branding from Van Straaten.

TEAM BRUNEL

Thanks to this partnership, Team Brunel beach wings are in place at the base camp in Lanzarote and nautical flags adorn the boat itself. Van Straaten tent covers, prints and special eye-catchers will all feature at media events too. Even the sail covers are completely in keeping with the corporate branding used for Team Brunel. The initial results of the partnership were already evident on 2 June, during the naming ceremony for the boat at Amsterdam's Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ - the city's most important stage for contemporary music and classical music with a modern twist.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION

"This year, a Dutch boat will be taking part in the trip of trips in the sailing world again", says Niels van Straaten. ‘Naturally, that's something you want the whole world to see. So, we are very pleased to be able to support this driven team by supplying it with the visual communication it needs.’

BRAND EXPERIENCE

This partnership is opening up a number of opportunities for Van Straaten too. Niels: "For example, we are supplying print products that are designed to add to the experience of events around ports and at launches. Although our focus is visual branding and live communication, we work with stand builders and interior designers too. Every segment in which Van Straaten operates is present. Team Brunel is giving us the opportunity to show where our strengths lie: in the creation of the ultimate brand experience.’

VOLVO OCEAN RACE

The Volvo Ocean Race is held once every three years and started in 1973, when it was called the Whitbread Round the World Race. The event lasts a total of nine months, during which the nine-man crew travels some 72,000 kilometres, often in demanding and unusual conditions. This year's race is due to start in the Spanish province of Alicante on 4 October 2014, after which participants will call in at another eight cities before crossing the finish line in the Swedish city of Gothenburg on 27 June 2015. Team Brunel includes the experienced Dutch sailor Gerd-Jan Poortman; the skipper is Bouwe Bekking.

In the run-up to the start of the Volvo Ocean Race, Team Brunel will make a promotional tour of the Netherlands. See www.teamsailingholland.com for more information.
