VAN STRAATEN INTRODUCES CERTIFIED FLAME RETARDANT MATERIALS INCLUDING INKS IN CEILFLEX™ STRETCH CEILINGS AND WALLFLEX™ WALL COVERINGS

NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR QUICK & EASY INSTALLATION OF FLAME RETARDANT CEILINGS AND WALL COVERINGS

Van Straaten, specialized in innovative visual branding solutions, introduces CeilFlex™ and WallFlex, new textiles used to construct stretch ceilings and wall coverings in a quick and environmentally friendly way. The material is very suitable to print on, allowing ceilings and walls to contribute to the visual appearance of any interior. It is also the only available textile available in the market that is certified for the combination of textile and inks.

CeilFlex™ and WallFlex™ are developed by Van Straaten in collaboration with German textile manufacturer Heytex and offers numerous advantages. Normally, textiles are only certified for flame retardancy, but in this case the certification applies to both textile and inks. This makes WallFlex and CeilFlex unique in today’s market. Architects and interior designers benefit from this dual certification because the material used immediately meets regulations. The textile has also received numerous other certifications, such as non-hazardous or carcinogenic certification and mold resistant certification. This makes this textile also suitable for humid areas.

Besides the combined certification, CeilFlex and WallFlex have additional advantages over standard solutions using PVC foil. The material is more environmentally friendly because it is free of PVC. CeilFlex ceilings are also quicker to install, because the room does not need to be emptied and heated to 70 degrees Celcius, as is the case with PVC-foil. The finished look is nice and tight and can be customized to any desired style by applying prints. Lastly, the acoustics are much better with CeilFlex and WallFlex as opposed to suspended ceilings or traditional wall coverings.

Niels van Straaten, Director at Van Straaten: “Solutions for stretch ceilings and wall coverings using materials such as CeilFlex and WallFlex are already widely used in countries like France and Russia. In other countries designers often choose ‘old-fashioned’ solutions, such as ceiling tiles, which is a missed opportunity if you want to really transform your interior into a visually attractive space. Besides this, CeilFlex and WalllFlex textiles  are certified for flame retardancy for the textile as well as in combination with the printed inks. It is very user-friendly. A CeilFlex stretch ceiling is not only installed faster, it also results in a much tighter fit than other materials. This is also true for wall coverings with WallFlex. And you can really make it visually stunning!”
