Van Straaten is a family-owned company that has been a pioneer and market leader in large-format printing and print media for over a hundred years. We combine high-quality prints with straight and curved aluminum profiles to bring a wide variety of visual branding projects to life: from trade show stands to interior design and event graphics. Thanks to our advanced production processes, we offer nearly limitless options in terms of quantity, size, and materials. Whether you’re looking to make a statement or communicate a message, Van Straaten has a solution for every budget and every brand, leaving a lasting impression every time.

Van Straaten currently operates in the Benelux, Germany, and the United States, with around 50 dedicated and motivated employees. In the coming years, we’re aiming for further growth and professionalization, with ambitious goals to match.

About the role

The Print & Cutting department is part of our broader Production division. As an Allround Operator, you’ll work closely with fellow operators, handling large-format machinery such as printers, calendars, and cutting equipment. You’ll be responsible for processing orders accurately and on time, ensuring product quality, and minimizing material waste.

Once fully trained, you’ll be able to operate, program, and maintain the machines, spot production errors, and check production tickets for accuracy. When needed, you’ll consult with colleagues or your supervisor about materials or unclear instructions.

Your responsibilities

  • Independently perform a wide range of printing tasks — both machine-based and manual — across various materials (textile, PVC).
  • Ensure continuity in the production process and keep accurate status/time records in our ERP system.
  • Collaborate actively with colleagues to ensure orders meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
  • Take initiative and propose improvements that enhance product and process quality.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and help keep the work environment tidy and organized.
  • Help ensure optimal machine performance through regular maintenance and timely reporting of malfunctions.
  • Take ownership of the quality of your own output, checking against production tickets.

What We’re Looking For

  • VMBO+ level of education and preferably one or more completed technical certifications or courses.
  • A hands-on, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude with strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team.
  • Accuracy and resilience under time pressure, even during busy periods.
  • A genuine interest in our products and/or target markets is a plus.
  • Comfortable using production-related software systems.
  • Physically able to perform manual tasks that require strength and endurance.
  • Strong communication skills and good command of Dutch (spoken and written). Basic English skills are a plus.

What We Offer

  • Excellent employment conditions according to the SIGN collective labor agreement, including participation in our group pension scheme.
  • Great opportunities for personal development and career growth.
  • An inspiring workplace with room for independence and personal growth.
  • A friendly, multicultural team with strong ambition and a family-like atmosphere.
  • Regular Friday drinks and team activities.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Salary ranges from €2,450 to €3,300 gross per month based on a full-time workweek, depending on your education, experience, and demonstrated skills.
