Currently active in the Benelux, Germany, and the United States, Van Straaten employs around 50 dedicated and motivated colleagues. The coming years will focus on further growth and professionalisation, with ambitious goals already set.

As a Commercial Back Office Representative, you will be part of the sales team and responsible for supporting the sales process as well as maintaining and expanding existing relationships (both direct clients and channel partners). You will also support one or more Account Managers in maintaining relationships and preparing quotations.

About the role

You will assist customers in using the order portal, and be responsible for supporting and advising both the organisation and customers on preparing and correcting print files. With the implementation of our new Order Portal/ERP system, this role is evolving. Routine data entry will largely be automated, shifting the emphasis towards advisory work and guidance.

The key focus areas of the role are:

  • Providing wide-ranging support to the sales team
  • Acting in a commercial and advisory capacity towards customers and partners, meeting commercial targets
  • Managing internal and external projects, including order processing through the portal, and making adjustments to graphic files if needed

Your responsibilities

  • Provide professional, accurate commercial support to new business and field account managers for all correspondence, customer, and relationship management
  • Ensure complete and accurate data entry into the CRM system, and follow up on quotations, order confirmations, and customer information
  • Support customers with graphic error messages from the portal and ensure smooth order processing
  • Create and archive graphic files and related production data
  • Arrange project-related purchases for specific orders if needed, ensuring target margins are met
  • Manage a variety of projects professionally and efficiently
  • Prepare quotations and monitor the sales process proactively and accurately
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue and margins, including upselling during active orders
  • Help maintain and expand relationships with clients and prospects, act on sales signals, and ensure proper follow-up
  • Support customers and prospects with order processing and the transfer of graphic materials

What we’re looking for

  • Completed MBO-4 education or MBO+ working and thinking level, with one or more completed commercial courses or training programmes
  • At least three years of proven successful experience in a similar role within the large format print, display, or graphics sector — ideally in a family-owned business
  • Strong knowledge and experience with MS Office, and basic knowledge of graphic file processing in Adobe
  • Familiarity with modern communication and administrative tools, including ERP/CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Affinity with Van Straaten’s products or target market is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both spoken and written (German is a plus)

What we offer

  • Excellent employment conditions under the SIGN collective labour agreement
  • Participation in our collective pension scheme
  • Strong career development opportunities and an inspiring workplace
  • An environment where you can work independently and develop yourself further
  • A collegial, multicultural team with ambition and a family-like atmosphere
  • Regular Friday afternoon drinks and company events

Salary range: €3,200 – €3,950 gross per month, based on a 40-hour workweek. Final salary depends on education, experience, and proven skills.
